Jalan Jalan, Motivasi, Renungan

Selama ini saya mengenal pahlawan yang dulu gambarnya terpampang di diding kelas saat mengenyam pendidikan di Sekolah Dasar. Tugas kita adalah menghapal nama dan dari daerah mana pahlawan tersebut berasal dan berjuang hingga gugur demi untuk bangsa dan negara. Seperti pelajaran biasa, menghapal dan menunggu untuk bisa menjawab soal dalam ujian.

Baru baru ini saya ke Ambon, Maluku. Seperti umumnya para pejalan kami singgah di spot-spot yang disediakan oleh pemerintah daerah untuk memperkenalkan daerahnya. Salah satu spot yang sangat berkesan bagi saya adalah Monumen pejuang Christina Martha Tiahahu.

Terletak di daerah bukit Karang Panjang, di area monumen terdapat patung yang menurut saya sangat gagah untuk seorang wanita muda. Patung yang menghadap ke laut dengan posisi berdiri tegak dengan memegang tombak, sangat heroik. Saya penasaran, siapa sebenarnya wanita yang terkesan tidak kenal takut ini? itu karena dulu saya hanya mendapatkan informasi mengenai nama dan daerah asal saja tanpa tahu cerita kepahlawanannya.

Christina Martha Tiahahu dilahirkan di desa Abubu pulau Nusalaut dekat Maluku tahun 1800. Ayahnya seorang kapten, Paulus Tiahahu. Dikarenakan ibunya berpulang saat dia masih kecil, Christina dibesarkan oleh ayahnya dan mengikuti ayahnya kemana pun ayahnya pergi bahkan ke medan pertempuran.

Diawal tahun 1871 Christina dan ayahnya bergerilya dalam perang melawan Pemerintah Kolonial Belanda, Mereka bergabung sebagai tentara Pattimura, pejuang besar dari Maluku. Perjuangan yang membuat Belanda banyak mengalami kekalahan, bahkan Christina melawan tentara Belanda dengan menggunakan batu yang dilempar. Namun di bulan Oktober perlawanan mereka terhenti karena ditangkap oleh Belanda.

Karena usianya yang masih muda, Christina tidak dihukum namun dipenara di Benteng Beverwijk sementara ayahnya dieksekusi mati. Setelah melarikan diri, Christina melanjutkan perang melawan penjajah. Tetapi akhirnya dia tertangkap kembali. Dalam perjalanan pembuangan dirinya ke Jawa, Christina jatuh sakit dan dia menolak makan dan meminum obat-obatan. Akhirnya dia gugur di usianya yang terbilang sangat muda sebagai pahlawan, 18 tahun.

 

Bagi saya kisah heroik ini benar-benar menggugah. Semangat juangnya sangat terasa, saya malah mengambil gambar dan menjadikannya sebagai wallpaper, sekadar mengingatkan saya bahwa seorang wanita pantang merasa takut, harus berjuang untuk kebenaran yang diyakininya, di mana pun dia berada.

Saya juga kagum kepada pemerintah daerah di kota Ambon yang sangat pas menempatkan monumen Christina Martha Tiahahu.  Daerah lain mungkin masih perlu menyelami arti kepahlawanan para pejuang daerahnya dan memikirkan visualisasi yang tepat untuk mewakilkan ketangguhan para pejuang terdahulu.

Semoga semangat para pahlawan bisa kita resapi dan diaplikasikan dalam setiap kegiatan kita. Yang paling pasti adalah mendapatkan contoh integritas dan keteguhan yang mereka miliki, tidak goyah oleh godaan apapun, selain apa yang menjadi tujuan utama. Merdeka.
