Sampai sekarang saya tidak mengerti dan tidak berusaha untuk mengerti tentang jalan hidup. Apa yang terjadi dalam hidup saya, saya jalani dengan seikhlasnya, dan dengan lapang hati.

Bagi saya kebenaran itu adalah kenyataan yang ada di depan mata. Sama seperti saya tidak mengerti kenapa saya bisa berbeda dengan saudara-saudara saya yang lain.

Memeluk agama yang berbeda dalam lingkungan keluarga bukan hal yang mudah, alhamdulillah keluarga saya menghargai pilihan saya. Saya malah sempat berpikir apakah karena saya dilahirkan hari Jumat tepat di saat adzan berkumandang, atau karena neneksaya yang asli Makassar memang memeluk agama Islam, sehingga saya bisa memeluk agama yang berbeda dari saudara saya? entahlah..

Yang pasti masalah keyakinan adalah masalah yang sangat pribadi. Prosesnya pun panjang.  Kehidupan toleransi terasa lebih kental jika sedang berkumpul  dengan keluarga. Contoh saja, kakak saya kadang mengeluh, setiap berkumpul dia harus memasak macam masakan yang berbeda biar saya bisa ikut menikmati masakannya. Tapi itulah toleransi.

Bukan baru-baru ini ucapan natal dianggap haram bagi yang memberi selamat. Begitu kabar yang saya dapatkan dari teman-teman di media sosial. Saya sendiri tidak membaca atau mendengarnya langsung. Malahan persoalan ini sudah terdengar dari tahun lalu.

Semua saudara saya merayakan natal, bahkan mama saya pun seorang katolik yang taat. Lalu apakah dengan itu saya harus memutuskan tali silaturahmi dengan tidak memberikan ucapan selamat? Saya tidak perlu berbicara soal keyakinan yang saya dukung atau tidak. Tindakan saya untuk beralih saja sudah merupakan sikap hidup saya.

Apa yang saya jalani adalah tanggung jawab saya. Jikalau orang lain mau menilai silahkan saja, itu toh tanggung jawab mereka juga.

Yang jelas saya melakukan apa yang saya yakini dan  saya dengan kasih sayang yang dalam mengucapkan Selamat Natal kepada Mama, saudara-saudara dan sahabat-sahabatku.

  1. ehmm, assalamualaikum. mungkin kita sependapat kak, saya juga sering mengucapkan selamat natal, tapi itu dulu sebelum ada teman saya yg tanyaka kalo sebaiknya bukan selamat natal dibilang tapi cukup tanyakan bagaimana natalnya? keadaannya? dan iya saya terima juga. tapi kalo haramnya saya rasa tidak sih selama niat dan iman kita tetap sama allah SWT. tapi kalo ada jalan yg lebih baik kenapa tidak itu saja sya pilih. dan akhirnya sya terbiasa tidak bilang selamat natal dan kalo ketemu teman yg bukan muslim sy biasanya cuma tanyakan bagaimana natalnya? sya kira begitu kak, sya juga tidak sepaham kalo persoalan begini jadi haram sih. 😀 hehe
