Kaget juga dapat telpon dari seorang sahabat. Anaknya yang baru kuliah di Bina Nusantara menabrak sepasang pengendara motor. Sebenarnya dia tidak sendiri di Jakarta. Tetapi tantenya lagi berada di luar kota, dan saya yang paling dekat dengan tempat kosannya.
“Saya tantenya pak!”, tiba-tiba saja saya menyematkan status keluarga karena dibutuhkan untuk berbicara kepada keluarga korban.
Satu yang harus dilakukan saat mendapat musibah seperti ini adalah menunjukkan itikad baik. Siapa pun yang salah, bagaimanapun kejadiannya. Korban adalah pengendara motor. Si manis Julia mungkin tidak memikirkan resiko meminjamkan mobil kepada temannya untuk dikendarai. Tetapi saya yakin kali ini dia mendapat pelajaran yang mahal.
Apalagi yang namanya tabrakan dengan motor, bagaimanapun itu mobil tetap di posisi yang salah. Itu hukum yang tidak tertulis. Lagi pula yang korban luka kebanyakan adalah pengendara motor.
Seperti selalu orang kita menggunakan kata untung. Untungnya cuma luka tidak sampai menimbulkan korban jiwa. Walaupun Luka di kaki menganga dan sepertinya 10 tindik jahitan pasti akan dibutuhkan untuk proses penyembuhannya.
Tetapi pelajaran yang paling penting adalah jangan pernah sudah merasa cukup waspada. Di jalan bukan kita saja yang berkendara, masih banyak orang yang tak paham cara berkendara yang baik.
Kadang kita sudah merasa berhati-hati tetapi ada saja yang nyelonong. Mungkin usia pun berpengaruh pada tingkat kewaspadaan seseorang. Makanya yang masih pelajar dan mahasiswa masih harus banyak belajar sabar, apalagi di kota seperti Jakarta ini.
“Kamu lebihhati-hati yah kalau bawa mobil, ini pelajaran penting untuk lebih awas lagi,” kata saya pada ponakan dadakan ketika akan meninggalkan Rumah Sakit Pusat Pertamina.
Semoga semua mendapat pelajaran akan kejadian ini, yang pasti saya dapat tambahan tulisan satu lagi di blog.
