Awal kepikiran kembali tentang anjing ini saat mamie berjalan di depan hotel JW Marriot Jakarta. Hotel yang terkenal karena sering jadi sasaran pemboman ini memiliki tingkat sekuriti yang lumayan ketat. Selain beberapa orang satuan pengaman seekor anjing pun dijadikan sebagai anggota dalam tim. Seekor Golden Retreiver menarik perhatian mamie. Anjing yang coklat dengan muka yang ramah, duh menggemaskan. Pas didekati malah menyambut dengan ekor yang dikibas-kibaskan. Tau kali bahwa mamie ini orang yang ramah juga #tsaah

Kedekatan mamie dengan anjing sebagai binatang piaraan dimulai sejak mamie masih kecil. Keluarga kami penyuka anjing, dan rata-rata anjing-anjing tersebut memang yang jinak. Dari anjing tekkel sampai anjing kampung yang istilah orang di makassar itu anjing matta’ (dan ketika mamie mencoba search di gugel yang muncul adalah group penyanyi matta, hehehe)

Anjing itu adalah hewan yang memang pantas dijadikan teman. Dulu sewaktu mamie masih kecil mereka adalah “teman” dikala sedang sedih. Melihat tingkah laku mereka cukup membuat kita merasa terhibur. Bahkan ada seekor yang paling dekat dengan mamie namanya Ocil.

Awalnya dinamakan Kecil, tetapi tiba-tiba aja berubah jadi Ocil entah mengapa hihihi. Anjing yang walaupun induknya anjing kampung, tetapi mungkin ayahnya anjing yang jenisnya bagus. *Gak tau sih soalnya si induk ini keliaran kemana mana #eh*. Badannya yang tinggi tegap, bisa meloncati pagar rumah mamie dulu yang tingginya 1,5 meter. Dia pelindung mamie banget, kalau ada yang mendekati pastilah digigitnya. Dia baik sama mamie tapi jahat sama orang lain. Menyenangkan di guard seperti itu. Serasa mamie ini berharga sekali untuk dia. Tidur pun se-kamar (ups), tetapi  dia tidur di bawah kaki mamie di tempat tidur. *which is now i can not do that hihihi*

Sejak mamie memeluk keyakinan yang baru, mamie tidak lagi memelihara anjing. Tetapi kesukaan sama binatang ini tetap ada sih, cuma memang gak mungkinlah sama seperti kemarin. Akhirnya sekarang beralih ke kucing. Menurut mamie kucing pun lucu tapi itu pada saat dia kecil saja hihihi. Eh tapi jangan salah, katanya pet, atau binatang peliharaan itu kalau beneran dekat sama pemiliknya bisa jadi sehati.

Benar saja, sedih sekali waktu pas pulang baru-baru ini, kak Ros (maaf kalau yang namanya sama), kucing mamie yang sudah tua itu katanya mati keracunan. Huhuhu.. berita sedih memang. Tapi itulah resiko punya binatang peliharaan, karena usia mereka lebih pendek dari manusia jadi sepertinya kita yang harus bersiap untuk kehilangan mereka daripada mereka kehilangan kita.

Di Jepang, ada cemetary khusus untuk binatang peliharaan. Dibuat memorial, album dan sebagainya. Mamie sampai terkagum-kagum melihat kecintaan mereka terhadap binatang peliharaan. Mereka tidak segan-segan membelikan ikat leher jutaan rupiah hanya untuk anjing tersayang. Umumnya yang memelihara pet ini adalah orang-orang tua, mungkin karena mereka butuh teman yang setia dan tulus. Yah…pet itu tulus gak ada motif apa-apa, kalau suka yah suka begitu pun sebaliknya.

Nah.. apakah memang lebih menyenangkan berteman dengan binatang piaraan atau manusia? hihihi.. semoga gak ada yang tersinggung
