Mungkin usaha berulang tiap hari dan tak sama inilah yang membuat Henry merasa tertantang. Tidak ingin berkomitmen sepertinya identik dengan seseorang yang mudah bosan dengan rutinitas. Usaha yang berulang kali semakin memantapkan hatinya untuk memilih Lucy sebagai pendamping hidupnya.
Lucy yang selama ini “dimanjakan” oleh ayah dan adiknya, mendadak mendapat metode baru untuk me-refresh ingatannya. Henry membuat video dan mengisahkan semua kejadian yang seharusnya tidak dilupakan oleh Lucy. Setiap pagi adalah hari yang berat bagi Lucy. Mengingat kembali kesedihan tentang kecelakaannya, memaksa dirinya untuk percaya bahwa dia telah melakukan hal yang tidak diingatnya. Tetapi itu adalah terapi yang baik. Perlahan dan pasti Lucy memahami kekurangannya karena penyakitnya ini. Tapi pemahaman ini juga yang menjadi alasan untuk berpisah dengan Henry. Dia tak ingin Henry memiliki masa depan yang tak jelas jika bersama dengan dia. Mungkin bagi Lucy bisa saja melupakan kejadian putus cinta ini di keesokan harinya. Tetapi tidak bagi Henry. Hatinya sudah tetap dan dia kembali mencari tambatan hatinya.

50 first days, bercerita tentang keuletan seorang pria, tetap konsisten di setiap harinya untuk usaha yang dia tahu akan membahagiakan dirinya. Kadang kita tidak cukup kuat dengan niat dan tujuan hidup. Mudah menyerah oleh keadaan. Apalagi jika usaha tersebut harus berulang.
Kejadian sepanjang hidup memang berupa baris-baris cerita. Terekam indah dalam ingatan. Ingatan yang tiba-tiba muncul oleh karena suasana atau ada hal yang memicunya. Tidak membuat kita menjadi negatif dalam rasa, pikir dan tindakan.
