Kejamkah Jakarta itu?

Tidak terpikirkan sebelumnya saya akan melewati keseharian saya di kota metropolitan ini. Bayangan tentang kota besar yang menakutkan juga sempat mempengaruhi saya pada awalnya, namun saya tetap yakin untuk bisa hidup di mana pun selama memang takdir saya demikian.

Saya memang lebih suka naik kendaraan umum. Membaca adalah kesukaan saya. Bukan membaca buku tetapi membaca fenomena kehidupan yang ada di sekitar kita. Perbedaan yang sangat drastis antara si kaya dan si miskin jelas terlihat.

Saya tahu, jika orang-orang yang naik mobil mewah dengan kenyamanan di sekelilingnya akan membuat mereka kurang peka terhadap yang terjadi dengan orang lain. Bukan mengeneralisasi, pasti ada juga yang berhati lembut yang peduli walaupun dia sedang berada di jok mobil mewah yang empuk.

Miris melihat pemandangan setiap harinya, di pinggir jalan masih banyak pula yang menadahkan tangan, membawa bayi sebagai penggugah rasa hanya untuk mendapatkan beberapa ratus rupiah saja.

Tetapi itulah Jakarta, semuanya ada di sini. Kabar tentang ketakutan akan kejahatan yang terjadi di sana sini, membuat kita lebih meningkatkan kewaspadaan bahkan dapat menjadi alasan penolakan untuk tidak mengunjungi kota ini, apalagi bermukim.

Saya tidak mau terlalu terpengaruh dengan asumsi, saya lebih suka ‘membaca’. Tidak semua yang dikatakan itu benar. Beberapa kejadian justru bertolak belakang dengan asumsi yang ada.

Pak Yus, bapak yang biasa mengantar saya ke kantor dengan motornya adalah salah satu orang yang saya temui yang menghapus kesan bahwa tidak ada orang yang peduli.

Di usianya yang hampir 60 tahun, berambut putih berbadan gempal, bapak ini masih saja mencari nafkah menjadi tukang ojek. Setiap pagi dia dengan setianya menunggu saya keluar dari lorong kompleks.
“Sudah sarapan neng? Mau singgah beli dulu?” Sapaan rutin yang membuat saya kadang tidak merasa sendiri.

“Neng kalau ada cucian kasih ibu saja yah biar dia yang nyuciin”,
Bapak ini hidup bersama istrinya, berdua saja tanpa anak. Saya kadang merasa kehilangan juga jika keluar dari rumah dan tidak menemukan beliau.

Mungkin saya tidak bisa memberikan lebih kecuali doa. Semoga bapak dan ibu sehat dan bahagia setiap harinya. Walaupun seminggu ini saya merasa sedih karena dia tidak bisa mengantar ke kantor karena motornya yang rusak.
Bapak itu orang yang baik untuk saya sudah membuat saya merasa seperti keluarga, oleh karena itu saya yakin dia akan menemukan orang yang baik juga. Semuanya akan seimbang. Seseimbang kesan Jakarta yang buruk, ternyata saya juga menemukan kebaikan di sana.

    Saya gak pernah berpikir apa-apa sih. Waktu memutuskan pindah, hanya berpikir bahwa saya harus mencari pengalaman lebih banyak dan belajar lebih banyak lagi pada kehidupan. Jadi ketika mencari lowongan pekerjaan pun gak langsung masuk ke pusat Jakarta, tapi malah ke pinggir2nya dulu 😀
