Pilih 21 atau 27

Renungan

Tersebutlah kisah di suatu zaman, di suatu saat dua orang murid yang bertengkar hebat hanya karena mempermasalahkan 3 x 7 itu hasilnya berapa?

Si murid A mengatakan sudah pasti 3 x 7 itu 21 karena itu yang dia pahami dan dia merasa benar sebenar benarnya. Si murid B mengatakan sudah pasti  3 x 7 itu 27 karena itu yang dia pahami dan dia merasa benar sebenar benarnya.

Mereka bertengkar hebat, tidak ada yang mau mengalah karena keduanya merasa benar sebenar benarnya.

Muncullah ide dari si A, “Bagaimana kalau kita tanyakan ke guru, karena guru pasti yang lebih tau yang mana yang benar”.  “Ayo!”, kata si B dengan yakinnya. Akhirnya mereka berdua menghadap ke sang guru yang terkenal sangat bijak.

“Maaf Guru, kami sudah berdebat dari tadi, B bilang 3 x 7 adalah 27, padahal kan yang guru ajarkan tidak demikian. Saya sudah memberitahunya hasilnya adalah 21 tetapi dia masih berpikir saya salah”.

“Iya guru, masak si A bilang 3 x 7 itu 21. Saya sudah bilang itu yang paling benar bahkan saya sudah bilang potong kepala saya kalau saya salah, eh dia masih tetap ngotot.”

Sang guru terdiam, kemudian dengan pelan dia berbicara. “B, kamu benar tidak usah dipermasalahkan lagi. A kamu dihukum karena kamu salah”.

B dengan riang berjingkrak-jingkrak dan pergi meninggalkan sang Guru dan A yang kebingungan. Kenapa dia disalahkan? dia yakin benar terhadap apa yang disampaikannya jika mengajukan bukti-bukti pun bisa. A memandang gurunya dengan bingung sambil menunggu dengan patuh hukuman yang akan disampaikan oleh sang Guru.

“A, guru menghukum kamu bukan karena persoalan 3 x 7, tetapi guru menghukum kamu karena kamu tidak pandai memilah dan memilih dengan siapa kamu berdebat, bahkan kamu hampir saja membunuh orang yang mempertaruhkan kepalanya hanya karena kebodohannya.”
