Internet membuat manusia terkoneksi dengan mudah. Tidak perlu lagi bertatapan muka untuk bisa berkenalan, hampir semua bahan untuk mengenal seseorang bisa diperoleh dengan mudah.  Aplikasi-aplikasi sosial media bertebaran. Manusia memang mahluk sosial, sekarang wadah tak terbatas ruang dan waktu sudah ada di hadapan, cukup dengan laptop atau gadget kita bisa bersosialisasi dengan mudahnya.

Informasi,  opini bahkan curhatan di sosial media dapat membuat gambaran umum tentang seseorang. Mesin pencari Google pun dengan mudah membantu menjejaki pribadi seseorang.

Terpaparnya informasi, membuat keingintahuan menjadi semakin tinggi. Kejadian di sekitar kita, orang yang kita kenal, bahkan teman dekat pun seakan tidak afdol jika tidak mengintip sosial medianya. Istilah stalking sudah jadi istilah umum yang dipahami, walaupun sebenarnya arti stalking lebih cenderung kearah kriminalitas yang sudah melewati batas privasi seseorang.

Mungkin karena pengalaman, kita masih sering susah percaya dengan orang lain. Kita kadang lebih percaya dengan kesimpulan yang kita ambil dari pecahan pecahan informasi yang kita cari sendiri. Sayangnya kadang kita tidak sadar bahwa kecurigaan kita justru mengantar kita pada afirmasi dari rasa tak percaya. Tidak lagi obyektif, pikiran mengantar ke kesimpulan buatan sendiri, hatipun tak berdaya. Yang menjadi target biasanya orang terdekat kita, atau orang-orang yang sedang dalam pemberitaan.

Kata orang tua, semakin banyak tahu semakin pusing. Orang seberang pun punya ungkapan, curiosity can kill a cat. Apakah stalking bisa berbahaya bagi orang yang melakukannya?

Berpikir Negatif

Karena didasari rasa curiga, konten negatif pasti mengikuti setiap data akibat stalking. Merasa dibohongi, kecewa dan bisa jadi marah. Tidak usah dulu berpikir dosa, keadaan seperti itu saja sudah membuat hidup jadi tidak tenang.

Menghakimi

Merasa benar dengan kesimpulan sendiri, kita kadang serta merta menghakimi pasangan atau orang yang berada dalam lingkaran pertemanan kita. Karena pemikiran sendiri yang kita yakini kita dapat menghakimi seseorang dengan pemikiran dan perkataan, bahkan dengan mudah dan yakin dapat menyebarkannya ke orang lain, sehingga mengubah opini secara umum.

Pemicu pertengkaran

Pemikiran sangat mempengaruhi sikap. Menghakimi orang terdekat kita bisa menjadi sumber pertengkaran.  Kemarahan yang tiba-tiba dan tanpa sebab bagi orang lain akan mempengaruhi kualitas hubungan. Jika sudah dalam pertengkaran, kadang sudah sulit mendapat titik temu karena masing-masing akan kuat dengan argumennya sendiri-sendiri.

Bahaya-bahaya di atas bukan serta merta membuat stalking itu menakutkan, tetapi ada beberapa tips agar kita bisa secara sehat melakukannya.

Berpikir Positif

Kegiatan mencari tahu harusnya didasari dengan rasa percaya.  Walaupun kepercayaan penuh kadang beresiko, tetapi itu urusan berikutnya. Stalking bisa dianggap sebagai pelengkap informasi bukan untuk mencari kesalahan.

Konfirmasi

Jika memang menemukan sesuatu yang janggal, atau interaksi yang berlebih, silahkan dikonfirmasi. Jika memang kekhawatiran kita tidak benar pasti ada alasan yg tepat untuk menjawab saat dikonfirmasi. Jika tidak, kemungkinan besar kita jadikan data untuk safety kita sendiri. Tetapi tetap, jangan terburu-buru menyimpulkan.

Bahasan Bersama

Keterbukaan adalah hal yang utama. Jika ada rahasia, komunikasi pastilah tidak nyaman. Kekhawatiran bisa saja didiskusikan, tetapi keduanya harus bersikap obyektif. Manusia bukan mahluk yang sempurna kita bisa saling mengingatkan, kesalahan bisa ditoleransi jika menuju ke perbaikan.

Menetapkan dasar kasih sayang dan peduli sebelum berdiskusi adalah pengingat yang tepat. Dengan itu, hambatan-hambatan kecil bisa dicairkan.

 

Jika stalking membuat keasikan tersendiri berselancar di sosial media, hendaknya kita juga siap sebelum melakukannya. Sangat disayangkan jika hubungan yang seharusnya baik baik saja jadi bermasalah karena ketidak dewasaan kita menyikapi keadaan.
