Moon Cake dan Kenangan Masa Kecil

Saya tidak paham dengan prosesi, namun yang paling menyenangkan saat itu adalah berlimpah kue kue kecil dan permen 🙂

Tidak sengaja saya membicarakan tentang kue bulan yang di daerah kelahiranku dikenal dengan nama kue pia. Rara yang kebetulan sedang berada di Singapura menyampaikan bahwa di sana mooncake sedang bertebaran di mana-mana, bahkan di gerai roti modern pun menjual kue musiman yang memang banyak  bermunculan saat mid-autumn-festival saja.

Ingatan ku mengantar ke masa kecil, dimana saya yang memang memiliki darah keturunan masih memegang upacara-upacara kecil dalam lingkungan keluarga. Moon festival ini memang diadakan setiap tahun di bulan purnama ke 8 dalam tahun penanggalan lunar.

Semasa kecil yang paling saya sukai adalah makanan yang melimpah, permen dan berbagai macam pernik-pernik yang disiapkan untuk memuja sang bulan. Rumah masa kecil saya memiliki teras di lantai 2, disinilah disajikan kue pia yang bersusun ke atas dari paling besar sampai yang paling kecil. Disekitarannya dihias dengan kue-kue kecil yang lain, termasuk permen dan manisan disajikan dalam satu tampah. Itulah daya tarik yang terindah buat saya saat itu.

Ritual yang dilakukan pun tak jelas menurutku, cuma membiarkan saja makanan itu berada di teras rumah beratap langit hingga lewat waktu tengah malam. Diterangi dengan lilin dan shio yang berwarna merah, kesan sakralnya nampak sekali apalagi tanpa penerangan.

Oh iyah, ada satu tambahan lagi yang membuat saya merasa malam itu sangat spesial. Mama biasanya menyediakan juga air yang diberi kembang macam-macam. Air yang di baskom itu dibiarkan semalaman diembuni hingga pagi. Setelah itu bergiliran lah kami 3 perempuan yang sejalin darah ini berurutan dimandikan oleh mama. Entah itu masuk ritual di negeri tirai bambu atau karangan mama saja. Yang pasti sangat menyengarkan mandi kembang, sejuk dan harum

Melihat tanggalan berdasarkan lunar, sepertinya malam bulan purnama itu jatuh pada malam ini 2 September 2012, wah.. jika sudah begini pasti di rumah sudah pada sibuk menyiapkan prosesi prosesi yang tak saya mengerti, yang paling saya ingat adalah saya akan begadang di samping tampah yang berisi makanan itu dan berharap jam 12 teng untuk bisa merebut makanan yang menggiurkan itu.

Saya merindukan masa-masa itu, terimakasih Rara sudah dengan tidak sengaja mengantarkan saya ke sana kembali, dan akan lebih baik lagi jika dia membawakan kue bulan sebagai ole-ole, iyah kan? 🙂

Bulan purnama Tgl 2 Sept 2012 msh masuk bulan 7 imlek. Tgl. 1-15 bulan 7 disebut festival “hungry ghost” di mana pintu neraka dibuka supaya arwah2 bisa masuk ke dunia utk mengumpulkan bekal. Perhatikan saja selama 15 hari itu setiap malam anginnya berhembus kencang. Jadi kebalikan (ingat “ying yang”) festival “qi ming” di mana orang hidup yg mengunjungi orang mati. Tahun ini “moon cake” festival jatuh di bulan purnama 30 September 2012

Wah.. creepy juga ternyata kisah dibalik itu yah,  dalam 15 hari kedepan ini ternyata kita dikunjungi para arwah..hiiiiiii

Dan ternyata saya salah juga dalam menghitung, tapi ada baiknya juga berarti masih punya waktu untuk menabung membeli kue bulan yang waktu di cek harganya enampuluh ribu sebiji, tetapi mungkin yang membuat mahal juga karena kemasannya yang unik.

Tapi biar mahal-mahal gitu ternyata Rara bawain ole-ole.. wah senangnya, thanks yah Ra ^^
