Yang namanya dongeng dimana-mana inti ceritanya pasti sama. Yang baik awalnya teraniaya ditindas oleh yang jahat dengan ending story, happily ever after

“Daripada berpikir untuk ide cerita yang baru, mending modifikasi saja”, mungkin itu yang ada dipikiran sutradara mirror mirror dan snow white and the huntsman.Terlepas dari kontroversi perselingkuhan bintang utamanya, saya memang menyukai cerita-cerita dongeng. Walaupun ending bisa di tebak tapi tetap saja menarik untuk ditonton, membuat hati ini senang dan berasa seperti dalam dongeng juga ^^

Maunya sih menjadi seperti snow white atau cinderella yang awalnya teraniaya dan kemudian akan bahagia. Tapi di kehidupan nyata ini sepertinya “there’s  never ending story”, bergulir terus berganti suka dan duka

Sudah menjadi pola yang pasti bahwa yang menjadi bintang utama itu harusnya cantik, berhati baik dan penuh pesona, sementara sang antagonis “harusnya” jelek, kejam dan tidak nyaman untuk dipandang. Dari kedua film yang saya tonton ini sepertinya bintang-bintang yang dipilih untuk peran antagonis tetap saja kelihatan cantik, yah sejahat apa pun perannya.

Julia Roberts dan Charlize Theron, dua bintang wanita hollywood yang memang penuh pesona, tapi entah saya sudah memiliki mindset tersebut ataukah mereka tidak bisa blend dengankejahatanyang ditampilkannya.

Keistimewaan dari film ini menurutku justru dari karaketer yang diperankan oleh Julia Roberts, sebagai seorang ibu tiri yang jahat dia memang tetap kelihatan cantik. Tapi bukan Julia Roberts kalau dia tidak memukau. Untuk karakter snow whitenya sendiri tidak terlalu menonjol, saya kurang paham apa alurnya yang tidak mendukung atau memang Lily Collins yang kurang penghayatan dalam memerankan snow white.

Yang paling memukau justru spesial efek dari film ini, setting nya memukau membuat larut dalam “kengerian” suasana dark forest. Perubahan wujud si ibu tiri yang jahat juga membuat terkagum kagum apalagi sedikit mengandalkan eksploitasi tubuh sensual ratu yang jahat ini. Charlize Theron memang memukau, cantik dan sensual tetapi tidak murahan. Kristen Stewart, memang sudah tidak diragukan lagi pesonanya. Snow white yang di dunia nyata ternyata dianggap jahat bagi sebagian besar wanita karena kedapatan affair dengan sutradaranya. Yah cinta bisa tumbuh berkembang dimana saja.

Satu karakter tambahan yang lumayan dominan di film ini adalah the Huntsman, Chris Hemsworth yang cakepnya mirip mirip Brad Pitt ini awalnya berperan sebagai pembunuh bayaran yang harusnya membawa Snow white ke ratu yang jahat untuk dibunuh tetapi selanjutnya menjadi pelindung bagi putri raja penerus tahta yang sebenarnya.

Dari keduanya ini yang paling menarik dalam alur adalah Snow White and the Huntsman, terlihat memang nilai $170.000.000 itu tidak sia sia dikeluarkan untuk membuat film ini, layak tayang dan layak tonton. Buktinya di bulan Juni saja keuntungan dari film ini sudah lebih kurang 100%,  walaupun keuntugan secara presentase hampir sama dengan Mirror Mirror, namun nilai nya jelas beda dengan pembuatan yang “cuma” $85.000.000 ini.
