Dalam rangka memperingati 50 tahun persahabatan Indonesia dan Jepang, hari Selasa tanggal 22 Januari kemarin didiadakan pertunjukkan Tsugaru Shamisen dengan menghadirkan pemain shamisen yang terkenal di Jepang yaitu Kazuhiro Fukui.
Undangan diperoleh gratis di Konsulat Jendral Jepang dan gedung kesenian Societeit de Harmonie dipenuhi oleh pengunjung yang antusias dengan performance yang sangat menarik itu.
Walaupun dimulai dengan waktu yang agak telat, tetapi itu tidak membuat suasanya kekaguman menjadi berkurang. Ditambah dengan kolaborasi MC yang menarik yang salah satunya merupakan staf dari Konsulat Jendral Jepang, Ms. Matsuoka.
Alat musik ini berasal dari Timur Tengah dan setelah masuk ke Jepang di sekitar abad 15 dan 16 berubah bentuk disesuaikan dengan kesenian lokal. Perubahan tersebut berlangsung sampai sekarang. Yang awalnya dipakai sebagai alat musik pengiring sekarang cenderung disajikan solo. Shamisen yang dulunya juga dipetik dengan tempo lambat, sekarang sudah dengan tempo cepat. Perkembangan ini yang dominan terjadi di daerah Tsugaru sehingga dikenal dengan Tsugaru Shamisen.
Shamisen, yang terbuat dari kayu dan kulit ini tidak jauh seperti alat petik yang lainnya. Memiliki snar dan alat petik. Namun yang menarik disebutkan adalah harga sebuah shamisen ini sama dengan harga sebuah mobil mercedez. Cukup malah untuk sebuah alat musik, tetapi setelah alat ini dimainkan oleh pemain pro sekaliber Kazuhiro Fukui, harga itu seimbang dengan bunyi yang dihasilkan.
Kazuhiro Fukui sendiri adalah musisi muda tsugaru shamisen. Sejak usia 10 tahun shamisen sudah menjadi alat musik pilihannya. Kazuhiro Fukui memenangkan 3rd Japan Tsugaru-Shamisen contest. dan telah tampil di event-event internasional seperti World Cup 2002, Aichi Expo 2005. Selain itu Kazuhiro Fukui telah berkolaborasi dengan musisi dari berbagai jenis aliran dan sudah merilis album berjudul GOLDFINGER, yang merupakan album J-Pop dengan tsugaru samisen didalamnya.
Penonton dibuat terlarut dalam alunan petikan tsugaru ini. Tempo dan stressing yang dimainkan dengan apik membuat diri kita seolah-olah berada di negeri sakura saat itu. Iringan tepuk tanganpun terasa tidak cukup untuk menunjukkan kepuasan dalam menonton pertunjukan ini. Terima kasih untuk Japan Foundation dan Konsulat Jendral Jepang yang telah mempersembahkan pertunjukan ini kepada Makassar, sebagai salah satu usaha untuk lebih mengenal Jepang dari segi budaya. Selamat memperingati Golden Year persahabatan Indonesia Jepang.
